If you are looking to remodel your kitchen, please follow these instructions
to take accurate measurements for your design.

1. L Shape Kitchen: L-shaped kitchens often feature one portion of the "L" as open counter space with a pass-through to a dining or living room to open up the entire kitchen space and create the impression of a larger area. For good reason, the L-shaped kitchen is one of the most popular layouts. It introduces a highly flexible design that can be adapted to many sizes and styles of kitchens.

2. U Shape Kitchen: U-shaped kitchens are often surrounded by walls/window, with the sink often placed beneath the window. This layout has an open side that usually leads to the adjacent family room, breakfast area, or a combination of the two.

3. Gallery Kitchen: Galley kitchens provide maximum efficiency for smaller spaces. We recommend light-colored cabinets and countertops to make the galley kitchen open and airy.

C. Measure Your Kitchen Space

Have a clear vision of what your new kitchen would look like and bring accurate measurements of your kitchen. Without this information, it will be hard to get an accurate plan. You can obtain a measurement of your kitchen by hiring a contractor or measuring it out yourself. If you do not have a contractor, we recommend following our kitchen measurement instruction to gather the information. The best tip is to be as prepared as possible.

  1. Measure the width from wall to wall.​ (A,B)

  2. Mark the position of your kitchen window/door relative to the wall. Measure the window size with trim included and the width from the wall to the window trim. (C,D,E)

  3. According to the plumbing position, get to know your kitchen sink position. Measure the width from wall to sink center/ stove center. (F)

  4. Measure your house ceiling height. (I)

  5. Appliance sizes (cooktop, hood, refrigerator, dishwasher, etc​.)

Getting Started

  1. Draw an outline of your kitchen layout, marking where the walls are.

  2. Mark where any windows/ doors are in your kitchen.

  3. Mark your cabinet, sink, appliances layout and label them.

  4. Add sizes in your sketch.

E. Questions to Consider

To ensure your new kitchen will meet all your needs, here are a few questions to consider before your purchase.

Appearance

  • Does everything in the space need updating or only some elements such as cabinets, countertops, appliances, tiles, and flooring? 

  • What materials do you prefer? Have a general idea of big-impact materials such as kitchen cabinets (stained, painted, glass doors, etc.), countertops (quartz, granite, marble, etc.), floors (hardwood, engineered wood, vinyl, etc.), and tiles (glass, porcelain, stone, etc.)

  • Do you want the upper cabinets to match your bottom cabinets?

​Storage and Organization

  • Are there any built-in organizers (Lazy Susan, pull-out shelves, etc.)?

  • Are there any available upgrades (wine racks, spice drawers, etc.)?

  • Do you prefer more cabinets or drawers?

Project Timeline

  • When do you need your cabinets? Installation date?
